Tomorrow, we start reading the Book of Bamidbar - "In the Desert"; 42 years ago, during the Six Days War, the IDF entered the Old City of Jerusalem and since then, the State of Israel rules all the parts of the City.
It's a different reality than before 1967. Can we call Jerusalem an united city? What does "united" actually mean?
Maybe the paradigm of the "desert" as a place not really "belonging" to any human being, and belonging to everybody, but actually to G!d could be the model of a real unification, where people could live in peace with themselves and with each other.
