Dear Family and Friends,

The proximity between the interdiction of worshipping idols and the obligation of defending the rights of the stranger, since "we were strangers in Egypt", probably teaches us to adopt a moral attitude when we deal with our historical memories; ethnocentric narcissism, leading to oppression of the stranger is probably a very well known and popular form of idolatry and reflects a deplorable but understandable human weakness.
