לבני משפחתנו, חברותינו וחברינו היקרים,

מחר, בפרשת "פינחס", נקרא את סיפורן של בנות צלפחד, שדרשו באומץ רב את זכות הירושה על נחל אביהן. הקב"ה תמך בדרישתן המוצדקת, למרות שלא היה תקדים לכך שבנות ירשו את אביהן. בנוסף, כתוב על צלפחד ש"מת בחטאו" (חז"ל מזהים אותו עם "המקושש"). אולי מלמד אותנו פרט זה שאין להעניש את בניו ובנותיו של אדם על חטאי הוריהם.

Dear Family and Friends,

Tomorrow we'll read an interesting story about the 5 daughters of Tzelofchad, who were audacious enough to claim the right of inheritance. G-d was on their side, although there was no precedent of women inheriting land. Even more interesting is the fact that Tzelofchad  died "because of his sins". Maybe this teaches us that innocent children (male or female) shouldn't be punished because of their father's misdeeds.
