לבני משפחתנו, חברותינו וחברינו היקרים,

המשפט "תכלה שנה וקללותיה, תחל שנה וברכותיה" לקוח מאחד הפיוטים הנאמרים בראש השנה.

האם באמת בהכרח היו "קללות" בשנה שעברה, או בשנים קודמות, בהן אמרנו את הפיוט הזה?

דומני שאולי אפשר להתייחס לאיחול הזה וגם לפיוט כהזמנה  להתבוננות, בה אנחנו מאחלים לעצמנו ולסביבתנו להסתכל על העולם ועל החיים בעיניים של "ברכה". הברכה מזכירה לנו את ה"ברך", המאפשרת תנועה וגמישות.

אז, שתהיה לכולנו שנה של ברכה

Dear Family and Friends,

A very well-known blessing for Rosh HaShana includes  a wish that "the past year with its curses should come to an end and a new year and its blessings should start".

Does that necessary mean that last year was a cursed year?

Maybe this phrase invites us to reflect on our attitude towards life and people and induces us to look at the world with eyes of blessing, "beracha" in Hebrew is  related to "Berech" (knee) , that enables movement and flexibility.
