תשעה באב עבר עלינו ומחר אנו נקרא את "נחמו נחמו עמי" (ישעיהו פרק מ) ועל שם ההפטרה נקראת שבת זו "שבת נחמו". האם מסוגלים אנו להתנחם או לנחם?

במובן עמוק יותר יש לילה "נחם" משמעות מורכבת יותר; להתנחם ולנחם פירושו: להסתכל על המציאות בצורה אחרת ולהבין שהמציאות היא דינמית ויכולה להשתנות, גם לא לפי תסריט ידוע מראש.

אפשר להבין נחמה כהתבוננות שונה על החיים ועל המציאות הדורשת מאיתנו לקבל החלטות שונות, או להעניק משמעויות אחרות לדברים שהם מעבר לשליטתנו. לעתים, מצריך תהליך זה תקופה של הבשלה.

Tish'a beAv is over, This Shabbat we read Chapter 40 of Yeshayahau (Isaia), starting with the words "Nachamu, Nachamu, Ami" – "Console, oh console My people"; are we able to be 'consoled' or to 'console'?

Maybe, in a deeper understanding, 'Nachem" – has a more complex meaning: it may signify to look at reality differently and understand that potentially reality is dynamic: nehama can be defined as a new vision of reality that requires that a decision already taken be changed, or which creates a different relationship of consciousness or of emotion that lends new significance to an event beyond our control. Sometimes, this process requires a period of maturation.
