בני משפחתנו, חברותינו וחברינו היקרים
-שני היבטים:לחג השבועות; "מתן תורה" ב"מדבר", מקום אינסופי, נטול ריבונות. המדבריות משחררת
את האדם מרכושנות ומאפשרת חוויה רוחנית נטולת מאבקים טריטוריאליים.
חוויית ה"ביכורים" היא ארץ ישראלית במהותה; היא קשורה לעבודת האדמה, אך מבטאת את ערך הנתינה, הבא להגביל חמדנות ושכרון הכח.
אולי יש צורך במתח דיאלקטי זה בין יהדות "מדברית" לישראליות "ארצית" כדי לאתגר את יהדותנו וכדי לחבר את ישראליותנו למסע מדברי אינסופי, רגוע ונטול מאבקים.

Dear Family and Friends,
Shavuot has two aspects; one of them is connected to the Spiritual Experience of Revelation in the Desert. The other one is related to the bringing the products of our agricultural endeavors to the Temple.
Those two levels may be needed in order to create a dialogue between the "Desert", a "no man's land" and the "Land of Israel"; This dialectic interaction may help us find the synthesis between Traditional and Moral Jewish Identity and spiritual quest, which has no borders or limits of Time and Space, and the existential experience of an independent state, with new challenges.
