לבני משפחתנו, חברותינו וחברינו היקרים,
איך לומר זאת? החיים מורכבים. השלג היפה, הלבן והנקי (עדיין) כאן בירושלים, לעומת דברים לא כ"כ נקיים, לבנים ויפים (ואני משתדל לשמור על שפה נקיה...) בבית ראש הממשלה, במשטרה, ובתעמולת הבחירות ברשת מהווים המחשה של אותה מורכבות ומה אם כן נותר לעשות? אולי להתבונן בפרשת תרומה שנקרא מחר, בה אנו מצווים לבנות "משכן" בתוכנו, כלומר מקום בו יש אפשרות להתחבר לכל מה שמעבר למיידי, לשחור, למכוער, אך יש לזכור שאי אפשר לנתק את בניית ה"משכן" מבנייתה של חברה מתוקנת, דהיינו מפרשת משפטים, בה אני מצווים על כינונה של חברה צודקת וחומלת.

Tomorrow, we'll read about the "Mishkan", the temporary and "portable" Sanctuary the Israelites built during their journey in the Desert. Some commentators interpret the Commandment "And they shall make me a Temple- so that I may dwell among them." as an universal imperative, not related to history or geography.
So, how is each of us supposed to build a "Sanctuary" and where?
Maybe this teaches us that we have to open ourselves to "transcendence within immanence", which means also to be receptive to the beauty of nature, to the tears smiles, handshakes of every human being, since all human beings were created in G-d's image.
