At the end of the Torah section we'll read tomorrow : "And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married; for he had married a Cushite woman. And they said: 'Hath HaShem indeed spoken only with Moses? hath He not spoken also with us?' And HaShem heard it."
We have the following sequence: a. Miriam and Aharon have a conversation about their brother; b. G!d listens and reacts by calling the 3 of them together and then c. speaks to Aharon and Miriam about what happened; d. Following this event, "And when the cloud was removed from over the Tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow". E. after noticing this: Aharon admitted that "have done foolishly"(JPS translation…) and asks Moshe to pray.
F: Moshe prays: "And Moses cried unto HaShem, saying: 'Heal her now, O G-d, I beseech Thee".
Maybe this teaches us that even a "private" conversation has its consequences; that there is no alternative to open direct communication, and that healing depends on the ability of the offended person to forgive.
Shabbat Shalom to all
