על בועז ופלוני אלמוני

רבים תהו על הקשר בין מגילת רות לחג השבועות וניתנו כמה הסברים המעניקים משמעות לחיבור הזה.

בשנה שעברה הצבענו על ההבדל בין "בועז", בעל העוז, האמיץ, לבין "פלוני אלמוני" (הפונדמנטליסט השמרן)- בועז הסכים לשאת את רות המואביה לאישה למרות איסור מפורש בתורה (לא יבוא עמוני ומואבי בקהל ה') – "פלוני אלמוני" סירב.

האם אנחנו לומדים מכך שכדי לחוות התגלות, אנחנו חייבים למצוא דרכים "לצאת מהקופסה" ואולי היציאה עצמה מהקופסה, אם היא נעשית "לשם שמים", דהיינו עם הפנים ל"אחר", היא התגלות (ותודה למורי ורבי הרב דניאל אפשטיין שהאיר את עיניי בסוגיה זו)

On Shavuot we read the Book of Ruth. Many explanations were given to that custom, but maybe there is a profound meaning connecting Ruth to Revelation

Last year we wrote about the difference between Boaz (the audacious) and Ploni Almoni (the "anonymous" – everybody, representing the conservative formalist).

Boaz agreed to marry Ruth the Moabite , despite of the explicit interdiction in the Scripture – the "anonymous"refused.

Does that teach us that in order to experience Revelation, we have to be audacious and creative and think "outside the box", or maybe being audacious and creative, if our intentions are "pure" and oriented towards the "Other" is Revelation..
