אם רוצים, כדברי רוזנצווייג, לראות בפרשת השבוע איגרת שנשלחת אלינו ופוגשת אותנו "בזמן אמת", קשה לא להתייחס ל"מכות" הפוגעות בעם המצרי כתוצאה מניצול של עמדת כח והתעללות בחלש.

דומני שגלות מצרים, כאירוע מכונן בתולדות עמנו חייב ללמד אותנו איך להתייחס בכבוד לכל אדם. אלימות של בעלי הכוח בהכרח מעידה על חולשה מוסרית, ולא משנה מהו מעמדם של בעלי הכוח (מלכים, נשיאים, רבנים ועוד).

If so, it certainly teaches us that what happened to the Egyptians as a consequence of taking advantage of their power could happen to any person, group and people who oppress the weak, the minority.

The apprenticeship in Egypt should teach us to respect every human being.

Misuse of power reflects moral weakness;

No matter if we are talking about kings, presidents or rabbis.
