לבני משפחתנו, חברותינו וחברינו היקרים,
לפני התיאור המסכם של בניית המשכן המוםיע בפרשת "ויקהל" שנקרא מחר, מזכירה לנו התורה את מצוות השבת. חכמים פירשו סמיכות פרשיות כאיסור לעשות מלאכות הקשורות לבניין המשכן בשבת. אולי בא הדבר להזכיר לנו, שהקדושה ההמתייחסת למחזוריות הבריאה והזמן קודמת לקדושה שאנחנו יכולים ליצור במרחב.
אך גם קדושת השבת נדחית כאשר חיי אדם עלולים להיות בסכנה ואולי ניתן ללמוד מזה שאין קשר קרוב ועמוק יותר עם הקודש המתאפשר לנו מאשר הדאגה לחיי האדם שנברא בצלם.

Dear Family and Friends,
Our Sages and other Commentators interpret the juxtaposition of the obligation to observe the Sanctity of Shabbat and the detailed Laws of the Tabernacle (Mishkan) in tomorrow's Torah reading as a prohibition of building the Tabernacle and do everything connected to it on Shabbat.
Maybe this teaches us that even if we have to dedicate a Space to the "Holy", since we cannot perceive unlimited and indefinite Divinity, the Cyclic Time, related to the Cycle of Creation should enable us a higher level of Spirituality and relation to the Holy.
But, even the Shabbat, a reminder of Creation and Liberation, has to be "profaned" (or:emptied, if we translate "Lechallel" more accurately) when a human life is in danger; this probably teaches us that the highest level of Spirituality and Relation with the Holy is: caring for Human Life.
