לבני משפחתנו, חברותינו וחברינו היקרים,
מחר נקרא על צורות שונות של "טומאה", מושג קשה להבנה לאדם המודרני. הרמב"ם רואה בטומאה אמצעי להרחקת האדם ככל האפשר מגישה אל הקודש, מכיוון שהקודש דורש מרחק.
אולי בא הדבר ללמדנו שהקודש - או כל דבר חשוב אחר - איננו מושג בקלות; אחרת היינו מתייחסים אליו כמובן מאליו. נחוצה מידה מסוימת של רומנטיקה וצריך להשאיר מקום לכמיהה ולחלום.

Dear Family and Friends,
Tomorrow we'll read about various forms of impurity. According to Rambam (Maimonides), the concept of impurity is related to the necessity of keeping people away as much as possible from the Sanctuary, since Holiness requires Distance.
Maybe this teaches us that Holiness cannot be easily accessible; otherwise it could be taken for granted. A certain degree of "romanticism" is needed; there has to be something left to dream about.
