להשתחרר ולשחרר

לבני משפחתנו, חברותינו וחברינו היקרים,

בליל הסדר, אנו נדרשים "לספר ביציאת מצרים". בהזדמנויות שונות (קידוש בשבת, תפילין, מזוזות ועוד), אנו מצווים לזכור את יציאתנו ממצרים. אך, בכל פעם שהתורה "מזכירה" לנו שהיינו עבדים במצרים, התזכורת מלווה בציווי. אנו נדרשים לזכור שהיינו עבדים והשתחררנו כדי

לחיות עם התודעה שבני אדם באשר הם, נולדו להיות בני חורין ולחיות בכבוד ועלינו לדאוג שבעיקר בני האדם התלויים בנו (אלמנות, יתומים, עובדים, זרים) יוכלו להרגיש בני חורין ולחיות בכבוד.

הקדשת ליל הסדר לסיפור היציאה שלנו ממצרים ומהמצָרים שלנו

נועדה אולי להעצים את התודעה הזו על ידי הסיפור המשחרר.

Dear Family and Friends,

During the Seder, we have to tell the story of Yetziat Mizrayim. We have many occasions to "remember" Yetziat Mizrayim, the Exodus.

Consistently, when the Torah reminds us to remember that we have been slaves in Egypt and that we have been liberated, this reminder always involves an ethical obligation towards the underprivileged (widows, orphans, workers and strangers); this reminds us that all people are born to be free and to live with dignity.

Telling the story during this night should help us liberate ourselves from Mitzrayim –Metzarim(straits)and enhance our consciousness and memory about human freedom and dignity.
