משה רבנו, עליו נקרא החל מהפרשה שנקרא מחר ועד לפרשה האחרונה בתורה, מהסס לקבל עליו את תפקיד המנהיג המשחרר; הוא מרגיש שדיבורו אינו רהוט, שאינו מרגיש ביטחון, שהעם אינו בשל להקשיב לו, שלפרעה בוודאי אין סיבה להקשיב לרעיונות ההזויים שלו הפוגעים בסדר הציבורי, אך הקול האלוהי - חיצוני? פנימי? חיבור בין שני הקולות? הכל תלוי בעמדה התיאולוגית שלכם - אומר לו: אל תתייאש! אולי הקול הזה מושתק כאשר אנשים רוצחים ומפעילים אלימות בשם האלוהים בפריז, בירושלים ובכל מקום וכאשר אין דיבור; הדיבור הוא ביטוי לצלם האלוהים; האלימות היא חייתית.

Moshe, in reply to G!d's mission replies; and here we have 2 different translations-interpretations:
"how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?'"
'How can I expect Pharaoh to listen to me? I have no self-confidence when I speak.'
The first translation (JPS) is a literal rendition of the Hebrew "Aral Sefatayim"; the second one (ORT) relates to a psychological inhibition.
The immediate context of Moshe's hesitation is probably related to his feeling that the people and his leaders have lost any hope for change, liberation and redemption. Nevertheless, the use of the term "Arel" (=uncircumcised) may also allude to the story mentioned about the circumcision of his sons by his wife Tzippora, while Moshe failed to do so and eventually about the fact that he might be considered by Pharao an (uncircumcised) Egyptian, since he was raised in the Palace.
Altogether, this may teach us that in order to feel confident about being a leader of any kind, especially if you want to change the ongoing situation, you have to believe that people will trust you even in uncertain risky situations, but you have also to be confident about your identity and vision.
